  • SHC spreads holiday cheer in Carlisle

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) was excited to be part of spreading holiday cheer in Carlisle by being a sponsoring partner of ‘A Carlisle Christmas’. The event, held at the Neal Welcome Center, provided opportunities to shop for a variety of gifts from local vendors, enjoy food, and listen to live music.   • Outreach Receives Walmart Grant

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) was chosen by the Walmart Community Grants Team and Facility #1140 as the recipient of a $1,500 grant to aid local communities. SHC received a similar grant from Walmart last year and is grateful for these opportunities. These grants allow the outreach team to aid patients and meet their needs.   • Powell County Lion’s Club Trunk or Treat

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) staff was all treats and no tricks at the Powell County Lions Club Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31. SHC’s Stanton clinic teamed up with Ale-8 to hand out treats, prizes, and beverages to trunk-or-treaters. Visitors also had the opportunity to win a giveaway of several big prizes, including a Rocketbook smart notebook. The team can be seen above, ready to greet trunk-or-treaters at the booth.

  • Carlisle Trunk or Treat

    Employees at Sterling Health Care’s (SHC) Carlisle clinic were in for a treat at the Wendt’s Wildlife Autumn Adventure event on Saturday, Oct. 28. The adventure offered several fun activities for attendees, including a costume contest and trunk-or-treat. Sterling Health was one of many local business greeting trunk-or-treaters with candy and children’s promotional items.   • Hispanic Heritage is Focus of Event, Diaz Interview

    Sterling Health Care’s (SHC) Jose Diaz made an appearance on local news channel WKYT, discussing the importance of celebrating Hispanic heritage. Diaz, a member of SHC’s interpretation team, is also a volunteer at Mount Sterling’s DuBois Community Center, which held an event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Sept. 30. Diaz spoke on the importance of being able to openly express and celebrate culture and diversity within the Hispanic community.

  • American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life-Montgomery County

    The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life-Montgomery County brought out a large number of participants to the event held Sept. 30th at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Sterling. Sterling Health Care sincerely appreciates the efforts of our own Jennifer Trimble, who serves on the Relay For Life Committee (Luminary Sales), and was proud to be a Gold Sponsor for this year’s event.

  • Saturday In Carlisle Festival

    Informational materials, health checks, promotional items, and a chance at winning a grand prize raffle drawing were all available to visitors at the Sterling Health Care booth as part of Saturday In Carlisle last weekend. Visitors also were treated to a choice of free Ale-8 options, thanks to an agreement between the two organizations at a variety of events. Providers and staff from the Carlisle facility began the day at 7:30 a.m. and welcomed visitors until mid-afternoon amidst perfect weather.

  • Grand Prize Winner at the Saturday In Carlisle Festival

    Coty Moon was the winner of Sterling Health Care’s grand prize drawing at the Saturday In Carlisle festival last weekend, taking home a brand new 55” television.   • SHC Coordinator Is Featured Speaker

    Sterling Health Care’s (SHC) Tiffany Taul-Scruggs, Patient Service Outreach Coordinator, was featured as a guest speaker at the first Parent Cluster meeting of the Montgomery County Black and Hispanic Achievers Club. Taul-Scruggs is pictured above speaking to parents on the variety of resources available through SHC.

  • Veteran’s Day of Honor

    SHC joined with several community partners in Bath County to hold a Veterans’ Day of Valor and Honor on Sept. 13, 2023, at the University of Kentucky’s Bath County Extension Office. The event was held to honor all who have served their country, offering numerous types of resources for veterans, their families and caregivers.

  • A Winning Veteran Smile

    SHC-Owingsville Project Manager Traci Miles was joined by SHC’s Shelia Campbell, Tammy Curtis, and Katherine Hamilton at the Veteran’s Day of Honor of event in Bath County and provided information, resources and gift cards to the honored veterans, families, and caregivers.

  • Sterling Health Care Donates to Montgomery County School District

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) representatives presented a check for $5,000 to the Montgomery County School District as part of its continual efforts to assist in the health and well-being of students, faculty and staff through its school-based health program.   • Sterling Health Care Donates to the American Cancer Society (ACS)

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) provided a $1,000 donation to the American Cancer Society (ACS) in support of their Montgomery County Relay for Life event, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30. The Relay for Life is a charity walk that aims to raise awareness and honor cancer survivors and those who are still facing the illness. These events are held in the communities around the world and are the biggest source of fundraising for the ACS.   • SHC-Stanton Donates to HANDS

    Sterling Health Care’s (SHC) Stanton location provided a donation of infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) kits to the Powell County Health Department recently, with a total of 30 CPR kits going to the department’s Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) program.   • SHC Commits $1,000 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass (BBBS-Bluegrass) Program

    Sterling Health Care recently committed $1,000 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass (BBBS-Bluegrass) program in support of the upcoming Bowl For Kids Sake. The program, which has set a goal for $20,000 in Montgomery County this year, aims to partner adult volunteers with children within communities who then benefit from positive mentoring. SHC’s sponsorship funds will go towards attainment of this goal and affords SHC the opportunity to be a participating sponsor in the Montgomery County Community Bowl, the program’s largest fundraiser scheduled for Sunday, April 23, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sterling Lanes in Mount Sterling, Ky.   • Montgomery County High School Career Fair

    Casey Razor, School-Based Health Coordinator for Sterling Health Care (SHC), and Jennifer Hager, SHC Clinical Manager, were in attendance at the Montgomery County High School Career Fair on Thursday, March 16. Juniors and seniors from the school were able to visit several tables to learn about colleges and careers that they may be interested in.   • Owingsville Health Fair

    Owingsville Elementary School opened its doors for a community health fair on Tuesday, March 7. Several members of Sterling Health Care (SHC) attended the event, providing valuable healthcare information while SHC nurses offered COVID-19 vaccinations.   • SHC Attends Job Fair in Clay City

    Several members of Sterling Health Care’s staff attended a career fair in Clay City, KY, on Saturday. The fair lasted from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Clay City Municipal Building. Employees educated attendees on employment opportunities offered by the company, while clinical staff provided COVID-19 vaccinations and bivalent booster shots to those interested.   • SHC Joins Shirt Sponsorship Effort

    Sterling Health Care is proud to be a sponsor of the new Mount Sterling Elementary (MSE) Shirt Sponsorship program. Through sponsorships received, the school will be able to provide an item of spirit wear to every student in the school. The sponsorships also allows the school to provide necessary funds for the students and staff, as well as any programs they hold throughout the year.   • 2023 MCTC Trade Wars

    Sterling Health Care is proud to support the 2023 MCTC Trade Wars competition scheduled to take place at the Rowan campus of Maysville Community & Technical College (MCTC) on April 28, 2023. The skill-based competition is designed to provide Area Technology Center (ATC) and high school students with the opportunity to highlight the skills and techniques they have learned at their local ATCs in categories such as air conditioning technology, automotive technology, computerized manufacturing and machining, medical assisting, and practical nursing to name a few. Four hundred students representing 13 schools competed in the 2022 competition, with more anticipated for the 2023 event.   • Water Available at Nicholas County Clinic

    Sterling Health Care has water available at our Nicholas County Clinic for those that need it. Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, the clinic is located at 1355 Concrete Road in Carlisle.
