SHC provides medical care and transportation for Bigfoot Fest

May 30, 2026 - A mobile unit and more than 50 employee volunteers represented Sterling Health Care (SHC) at the second annual Red River Gorge Bigfoot Fest in Stanton's City Park last Saturday (May 30). Crowds numbering well into the thousands came to enjoy the festival featuring presentations and picture/autograph sessions with well-known television celebrities in the study of Bigfoot and other cryptids; displays of movie memorabilia; and more than 140 vendors offering food, souvenirs of all kinds, educational information, and much more.

"It was so great to see the involvement from so many employees participating in the day and in the community," said Tina Bryant, SHC Chief Executive Officer. "Our presence in activities like this makes a significant impact for our organization and I personally appreciate each one that came out and displayed how we truly care for our communities and what they're involved in. This was a great day for Stanton!"

"I couldn't be more excited about the support our employees gave to this event," added Jeff Pinkerton, SHC Marketing & Communications Director. “Our employees showed up in a big way and the committee genuinely appreciated our involvement with the mobile unit and provision of transportation with our wagon. I've already had discussions about SHC's involvement in this community event and we are looking forward to working with the festival committee even more on future events.”

SHC's Kemberly Spencer, who teamed with Keisha Fraley to provide coverage at the mobile unit for the day, found herself between Swampman and Turtleman as the two media stars "captured" our APRN for a photo at the pavilion.

The early morning volunteers from SHC were primed and ready as they boarded the company wagon at the Stanton clinic and readied for transport to the Stanton City Park. Anthony Thomas and his grandson provided transportation services throughout the day for employees and festival visitors alike.

The day was not all about leisure time as SHC Chief Executive Officer Tina Bryant took a few moments on the walkway to discuss some important issues with Congressional hopeful Dr. Ralph Alvarado, who was in attendance at the festival. The pair discussed Sterling Health Care's important role in the community, the upcoming election for Kentucky's 6th District, and the future of medical care in Kentucky's Gateway region.

Guests crowded the park's pavilion to hear a number of speakers share their Bigfoot knowledge and experience.

Dr. Mayor was one of the featured speakers at this year's festival and drew long lines of fans throughout the day. Russell Acord, another of the series' stars and mountain climber, is seen in the background.

The famous General Lee, known for its fast-charging, high-flying dynamics on The Dukes of Hazzard television series, was on display for festival guests to see, as was the iconic Trans-Am of Smokey and the Bandit movie fame.
