August 10, 2024 - Sterling Health Care (SHC) was the talk of the town at the Small Town America festival in downtown Mount Sterling.
With booths all along the side of the county’s courthouse, those attending the festival had no shortage of activities to participate in throughout the day. With several item giveaways, an inflatable slide, and sugar-free drinks that became a hit with the crowd, SHC saw a lot of traffic in the area.
The kids zone provided a variety of fun activities in addition to the slide, including face painting and balloon animals. SHC’s school-based health program also held a giveaway of two bicycles. Kids could also participate in a prize drop game at the vision department’s booth and join their parents in spinning the prize wheel at the end of the health fair.
The organization also provided a quick snack of fresh popcorn to those who stopped by, and there was no shortage of beverages to pair with their snack. Representatives of Ale-8 were in attendance at the festival, providing both original flavors, as well as offering a taste of their newest drink flavor, Strawmelon. Even state Senator Greg Elkins stopped by the booth to enjoy a taste.
The availability of sugar-free drinks kept SHC’s nursing and health check area busy throughout the day. Once people got their drinks, they also received a chance to get several health checks, including blood pressure and blood glucose tests.
