August 7, 2025 - Rocky Adkins, Senior Advisor to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, was the featured speaker August 7th when Montgomery County’s Chamber of Commerce held a luncheon for business leaders and honored guests.
Several Sterling Health Care employees were on hand as Adkins officially presented city and county leadership with a commemorative check for $2 million for site readiness efforts at the new industrial park located on 163 acres outside of Mount Sterling. The funds were provided through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative (KPDI) Program of 2024, which is a statewide effort to support upgrades at industrial sites throughout the commonwealth and position Kentucky for continued economic growth. According to the commonwealth’s New Kentucky Home website, KPDI is a collaboration between the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and Kentucky Association for Economic Development (KAED) and includes $35 million per fiscal year in state funding toward upgrades of sites and buildings across the state. Through KPDI, funding is available through a competitive application process, with each of the 120 Kentucky counties eligible for a maximum funding amount calculated based on population. There is a maximum of $2 million per county per project.
The luncheon was held at the Irish Hills Restaurant with approximately 130 guests in attendance.
