July 7, 2026 - Exactly one year to the month after signage went up announcing the future site of the Sterling Health Care (SHC) Owingsville clinic, plans are materializing to bring about groundbreaking activities within the very near future.
According to Tina Bryant, SHC Chief Executive Officer, final plans are expected within a few weeks and will be followed immediately by a request for bids. Provided no unforeseen delays occur, groundbreaking work at the site could begin as soon as early fall.
“We are very excited about this new chapter in our organization’s history and the positive impacts it will mean for our current and future patients located in Bath and surrounding counties,” Bryant said. “Our present location on Water Street in Owingsville has served us well since 2016 but this new location affords us the opportunity to serve more, serve better, offer more services, and continue our mission to improve the lives of all people in the communities we serve. We’re anxious to move forward and continue providing quality, affordable health care with our exceptional team of providers and staff.”
The newest facility for the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) organization is conceptually designed for approximately 10,000 square feet with a parking capacity just shy of 100 vehicles. Primary care, a drive-thru pharmacy, and continued offer of a sliding fee scale to financially assist those who qualify will be notable features of the facility which will be located on KY-36 (across from Save-A-Lot) at Exit 121.
“It’s going to be a facility Owingsville can be proud of, and one that is very easily accessible,” Bryant added. “Sterling Health Care started in 2012 with a focus on providing quality care for all who entered our doors, regardless of ability to pay. We’re still committed to that purpose and are looking forward to providing professional, affordable care to our patients for many years to come.”
