May 20, 2025 MOUNT STERLING, KY. – The Marketing and Communications department for Sterling Health Care (SHC) has achieved notable recognition in the medical industry following recent award announcements from two separate organizations. Jeff Pinkerton, Marketing and Communications Director for Sterling Health Care (SHC) in Mount Sterling, KY, was recently informed the department has been selected as the recipients of five awards from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) in New York City, NY, as well as being named one of seven finalists for a top award from PR Daily’s Media Relations, also out of New York City.
Entries for award consideration in both organizations numbered in the thousands and were submitted from companies and organizations around the globe.
“We are obviously very excited and appreciative of these recognitions,” said Pinkerton. “Our department is very proud to represent Sterling Health Care and our entire team of professionals, and strive to continually provide the best marketing and communications we can about the great work performed at all of our clinics and school-based health programs. We look forward to continuing those efforts in the future.”
Team members joining Pinkerton in the award-winning efforts included Alyssa Allen, marketing specialist; Josh Wicker, social media specialist/graphic designer; and Shelia Logan, executive assistant and website content designer.
SHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing primary care and other health-related services in Kentucky’s Gateway Region through nine clinics in six counties, one mobile unit, and 19 school-based health sites.
SHC received a total of five awards from the 31st Annual Communicator Awards selection process, a program recognized as one of the largest and most competitive programs honoring excellence in marketing, communication and creative work. The academy is an invitation-only body of over 500 industry leaders from top brands and agencies. This year’s jury included professionals from Google, Smithsonian, Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Spotify, Johns Hopkins, and Amazon, among others.
“Whether centered around emotionally resonant storytelling or Marketing Effectiveness case studies, the entries reflected the power of communication to bridge gaps between people, platforms and perspectives,” said Lauren Angeloni, Managing Director of the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts in New York City, NY. The academy is an invitation-only body of over 500 industry leaders from top brands and agencies. SHC is also one of seven finalists for the top award in the category of Community Relations, sponsored by PR Daily’s Media Relations. Honorees will gather in New York City, NY, in September to see who will walk away with the prestigious top honor.
“To be recognized on the same list with such well-known organizations utilizing some of the world’s top talent really reflects the commitment of our team to their work,” said MinDee Chandler, SHC Chief Of Operations. “It’s another great honor and we’re anxious to see what happens at the ceremony in New York.”
Other award finalists include Chick-fil-A, the University of Notre Dame, Suburban Propane, The Cirlot Agency (of Mississippi), RTI International, and Kaplow x HearingLife.
