March 5, 2025 - Sterling Health Care (SHC) pharmacist Laura Rogers made the day of local school children on Tuesday by reading to kindergarten classes at Bowen Elementary.
The opportunity developed as part of SHC’s support of Read Across America Week, held in conjunction with the birthday of children’s author Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel. SHC provided free books for children at each of its clinics this week, purchased through the International Book Project in Lexington.
“I was glad to be able to read to each of the kindergarten classes at Bowen,” she said. “Most of the kids knew me as EJ or Addi’s mom, but it was extra special when a few of them recognized me from the pharmacy.”
Rogers, who works at SHC-Stanton, is pictured below preparing to read Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax to one of the classes.
