Leadoff Dinner, Strike Out Cancer event part of sponsorship lineup

February 23, 2024 - MT. STERLING, KY. – Sterling Health Care’s (SHC) excitement over the planned opening of its latest in-house pharmacy in Owingsville is going to have to simmer just a little bit longer in the on-deck circle. Stepping to the plate with its own spotlight on Friday afternoon was SHC’s announcement of a $3,000 donation to the Bath County High School Softball Program.

The donation comes one week ahead of a much-anticipated Leadoff Dinner that will welcome ESPN analyst and 3-time NCAA national champion Jenny Dalton-Hill as the featured speaker. The former Pac-12 Player of the Year (1996) and Most Outstanding Player of the Women’s College World Series (1996) for the Arizona Wildcats will speak at the team fundraising dinner scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. at the high school auditorium on Friday, March 1.

Coaches and players from Bath County High School met with members of the Sterling Health Care team on Friday afternoon for a ceremonial check presentation. Pictured, from left, are Dave Moore, BCHS assistant coach; Kenny Williams, BCHS head coach; BCHS players Ashlee Rogers and Rae-Leigh Purvis; Tina Bryant, SHC Chief Executive Officer; Kim Moore, SHC Director of Pharmacy; Jeff Pinkerton, SHC Marketing and Communications Manager; and MinDee Hudson, SHC Chief Operating Officer.

The dinner will be the first of five events being sponsored or co-sponsored by Sterling Health Care this season, a line-up that will include the following:

  • The 12th installment of the C.S.I. Lady Cat Invitational;
  • Bath County’s portion of the annual Tri-State Showcase (one of Kentucky’s premiere softball events);
  • The BCHS Strike Out Cancer event held on an annual basis; and
  • The 61st District tournament hosted by the school this season.

“We are very honored and excited to partner with Bath County softball, their coaching staff, and their boosters for this series of events this season,” said Jeff Pinkerton, Marketing and Communications Manager for SHC. “Their mission to not only build and sustain a successful program, but also to help students be part of building successful lives and communities during and after their high school years aligns significantly with our mission at Sterling Health Care. We’re proud to support their efforts and look forward to continuing our partnership beyond this season, through their activities as well as our school-based health program in the district.”

“We appreciate Sterling Health Care and their generous support of our program,” said Kenny Williams, BCHS head softball coach. “We’re anxious to start the season, move forward on accomplishing the goals we have set, and we’re excited to have SHC as part of our team.”

Tickets for the dinner are available by calling Kenny Williams at (606) 336-4326 or visiting the Bath County Softball page on Facebook. Cost will be $15.
