  • SHC supports community center with health checks

    Several members of Sterling Health Care’s (SHC) clinical staff were in attendance at the DuBois Community Center Health Fair held on April 20. Several types of health checks were available to those at the fair, including blood glucose checks, blood pressure checks, and vaccinations.   • SHC sponsors Big Brothers Big Sisters event

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) provided a sponsorship of $1,000 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass (BBBS), LLC for the Montgomery County Community Bowl at Sterling Lanes on Sunday, May 5. Several teams from SHC ultimately participated in the event, which will support the organization in providing positive role models to at-risk children throughout the region. Through four main programs, BBBS pairs adults with children ages 6-13 in order to build personal relationships that allow the children to reach their potential.   • SHC provides support for autism acceptance

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) partnered with the Bath County community and its School Board of Education to hold an Autism Acceptance Walk on the evening of April 17. The event featured several speakers, activities for different age groups, and the presence of several vendors for attendees to meet with and gather information. A ceremonial check presentation was held at the SHC Administration Building on Thursday, April 11, with Bath County Autism Council Chairperson Kassandra Hamilton (second from left) accepting the check from SHC’s Dr. Leslie Aslam; Tina Bryant, Chief Executive Officer; and Sabrina Butcher, Risk and Compliance Specialist and SHC organizer for the event.

  • SBH teaching students about health careers

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) staff attended the Montgomery County High School Career Fair to teach local students about the variety of healthcare careers available to them after graduation. Angel Rogers, school-based health coordinator, and Michelle Lesieur, administrative assistant, are pictured above, ready to greet the hundreds of local students in attendance.

  • SHC sponsors Kiwanis Egg Hunt

    Sterling Health Care (SHC) provided two bicycles to winners of the Kiwanis Club of Powell County Egg Hunt held March 24. The event, held at the Lions Club Park in Stanton, featured several egg hunts for various age divisions, with a total of 58 prizes donated by the event’s sponsors. Children in attendance also got the chance to meet the Easter Bunny after the contests took place. SHC’S Laura Rogers, Pharmacist and SHC Events Committee Chair, is pictured above presenting one of several winners with their prize.

  • SHC reaches out at recruiting event

    Sterling Health Care was represented at the Edgewater recruiting event, providing company and contact information to area professionals seeking opportunities.   • Sterling Health Care teams up with Lady Cats

    Coaches and players from Bath County High School met with members of the Sterling Health Care (SHC) team on Friday afternoon for a ceremonial check presentation. SHC has donated $3,000 to the Bath County High School Softball Program for a much-anticipated Leadoff Dinner that will welcome ESPN analyst and 3-time NCAA national champion Jenny Dalton-Hill as the featured speaker.   • Mammogram van visits clinics

    Sterling Health Care recently partnered with St. Elizabeth Healthcare to make mammographies mobile recently, offering scheduled visits at the SHC-Owingsville and SHC-Carlisle clinics. The mobile digital mammography service provides life-saving opportunities on several occasions throughout the year. Anyone who wishes to schedule for the next mobile visits may contact SHC’s main campus at (859) 404-7686.

  • Patients take their shot at Hoops 4 Health

    Hoops 4 Health, a new health outreach activity sponsored by Sterling Health Care (SHC), launched on Feb. 9 when Montgomery County and Paris City met for a pair of basketball games between its boys’ and girls’ teams. Several members of SHC’s clinical team provided health checks such as blood pressure readings and blood glucose level checks to any interested fans attending the game.
